Currently I'm Loving....Flats!

I've been on a bit of a baby-snuggling fashion hiatus...for too long. As things return to normal and I look forward to getting back into gear, I'm really looking forward to sprucing up my shoe collection. I am always a fan of heels, but there is something so tempting to this new mama about ballet flats. Mine have seen better days, so these are a few that I'm checking out.

Most. Comfortable. Shoe. Ever. Hands down. This simple black flat could go with most outfits and feels awesome on my foot. These are an investment shoe, but you'll get your money's worth!

Another gorgeous Tory Burch flat, this time in emerald green suede. So fun.

I also LOVE the color of these from J. Crew - called Fresh Mango. Perfect for spring!

A colored flat is a great way to add a pop of color to a neutral outfit this spring. Would these Mango flats look great with a navy blue dress with a tan belt?

Fashion Swap Birthday Party!

I recently attended a closet cleanout birthday party for two sisters. They brought the contents of their closets and tried everything on in front of their friends (and me!) to get opinions. There was also a clothing swap! The party was so thoughtfully planned out, the planners even had surveys, a pink "catwalk", racks for the clothes, a swap area and a large NO bucket that was full by the end of the night. I enjoyed getting to know the group of ladies and hope that the two birthday girls walked away with some new ideas and had lots of fun.

Birthday Girl Monet, rocking a tiger skirt that (i believe) later found a home in the NO pile.
(Check out that cat walk!!)

Birthday Girl Sterling, looking stunning in her shirt dress with wide belt and leopard flats.

NO pile, in the works

Swap area, with some items on display for shock factor :)

I also got to have a little one-on-one talk with some of the other girls there, talking about different issues they have from dressing for work, moving on from a frumpy look or accentuating their body style. The party ended with the group of friends trying on and swapping clothes. I know a few items were swapped and will have a whole new life with their new owners. What a great party!

Dressing for Two

How cute are these maternity  dresses from Rosie Pope? I don't think women who are expecting should have to resort to mumus and oversized clothing to accomodate for their changing figures. There are some really great options out there, so don't be afraid to try some of the same styles you love, made for your temporary baby body. Plus, these looks will help you keep cool in the hot summer temps, and easily carry over to fall by adding an jacket, cardi, tights or leggings. Splurge guilt, averted!

If Rosie Pope sounds familiar, she was the star of the tv series Pregnant in Heels. Visit her shop and blog.

Rain, Rain (Come Today)!

Now that I've spotted these two gorgeous raincoats, I will no longer be dreading this rainy summer! So long are the days of a nerdy looking umbrella. Behold...

HOW to choose a color?? (worse yet, HOW to get it around a preggo belly??)

Media Attention!

I was quoted (sort of correctly) in the Naples Daily News today, reqarding a new shoe store opening in the Mercato. The line is Pikolinos, and will be the first store in the U.S. Visit the lines website here and view the article here. After you read the article, note that I actually said that the price is affordable for some,  and that I would recommend them to clients as appropriate. Either way, the shoes are very fun! Here is one of my favorite styles:

There are heels, sandals and boots to choose from, for both women and men. I can see myself getting a lot of use out of these. Visit the new store at the Mercato this fall.

Love Fashion

I celebrated my 4th wedding anniversary with my awesome husband, David, a few weeks ago! The memories made me think back to planning our wedding, and of course, the all-important decision of what to wear. We had a very simple beach ceremony in Key West, and I wore a silk taffeta strapless dress from J. Crew. My hubby was also wearing J. Crew--I think I was totally blinded by their simplicity and style.

The 2011 wedding season is in full-swing, and there are so many gorgeous styles to choose from, ranging from casual to formal. Here are some of my favorite picks:

Your wedding day style will depend on where you're getting married and what kind of look you're going for. Some brides even opt for a formal dress for their ceremony and a casual dress for the after party. I have a hard time even thinking about what I would wear now if I were getting married today. I KNOW I would go for a pop of color in my shoe, like the model in the picture, above!
Dresses above are from J. Crew and BHLDN.
